New Groupon Offer Featured
Once again this year we are offering a Groupon. The offer this year is for $7.00 for our unlimited wristband which sells normally for $15.95. Yes, we know... it's a great deal. We often get asked why we use Groupon, or deal sites at all. Yes, many have had success but many have also had their share of issues with Groupon and other deal sites (Living Social, DealSaver etc.) We thought maybe it would be helpful to write something about why we have continued to use Groupon and how we think it pencils out for our business model.
At the core of what we do here at Storyland & Playland, we are striving to create memories for our guests. It is our passion, mission and focus that from the time you step foot in our parks that we can help to create the best experience possible. What we know is that those who have visited over the past few years have seen significant improvements in the parks and in their experience. What we also know, is that we still feel that their are thousands of Central California families who have not yet made a visit to Storyland & Playland. Which brings us back to Groupon.
Groupon is nothing more than a marketing tool for us. It is a way for us to introduce potential guests to what we do everyday here at the park. It is a way to encourage more families to create memories at Storyland & Playland. We realize that each time we offer a Groupon that we severely undersell our product, however in a business like ours if that contributes to return visits and brand loyalty, we are happy to do it. Over the next four days, we will likely sell 10,000 groupons. As we write this on Friday morning we are already approaching 2,000. In our business as a non-profit, we thrive off of having guests in our parks who are able to forget the issues of their real lives and just have a day to spend with their family. The truth is our costs of operating the parks don't change whether we have 500 guests in a day or 3,500 in a day so that is how Groupon becomes an effective way to encourage guests to either visit us for the first time or come back and remember just how important these parks are to our area.
With this groupon, we will be working harder than ever to encourage you to make a return visit. If you purchase groupons over the next few days, your experience when you redeem them will be a little bit different. The day you redeem your groupons you will be given a few special offers that will only be available that day. We have put a lot of thought into these and we really hope that you will consider these offers. Mostly, our hope is just that after your experience using your Groupon you will want to return and make Storyland & Playland a significant part of your families life.
