W.B. & Lois Kyle Depot Now Open
After nearly 18 months, the new W.B. & Lois Kyle Depot has opened to the public. While there are still a few special additions to the depot that are still forthcoming, guests to the park have been very excited to be using the new depot.
The depot is the result of a nearly $80,000 donation from the Kyle family trust. For nearly a decade, the Kyle family who owned the KYLE Railroad (a regional railroad line) has been major donor to the railroad at Rotary Playland. Beyond the new depot, they also have put thousands of dollars into the maintenance of the Willis B. Kyle Express Train, as well as funded the train’s expansion to Storyland in the late 90’s.
Many local contractors contributed to make the W.B. & Lois Kyle Depot a reality but a very special thank you is in order to Rotary Storyland & Playland Board of Directors chairman Ron Sidoli for his tireless effort in coordinating the project.
