If you had told Patricia Hopper fifty years ago that Rotary Storyland would still be around engaging children and families in 2012, she would have just laughed and shook her head. Patricia Hopper was there from the very beginning. As the head artistic director and curator of Storyland when it opened in May of 1962 she has said she would not have imagined in her wildest dreams that Rotary Storyland would still have been around fifty years later stirring the imagination of children and families throughout Central California.

Storyland & Playland is proud to be working with out partners on a Adopt-A-Horse coloring contest. Participating is simple! Visit our contest page here to download the coloring sheet. All of the contest rules are right on the coloring page. All entries must be completed by childeren 12 years or younger and must be either turned in in person Wednesday-Sunday at Playland from 10am-6pm or mailed into 890 W. Belmont, Fresno CA 93728.

With a strong commitment to education, Rotary Storyland begins an eight-week program for children ages Pre-school through third grade on June 30th at Rotary Storyland. “Story Explorers” will happen each Saturday for the next eight weeks from 9:30am-11:00am.

Splash Junction, Rotary Playland's 3500 square foot splash pad which opened in June of 2008 is back open and delighting guests once again. Both parks have now started their summer hours. Playland is open each Wednesday-Sunday form 10am-6pm and Storyland is open each Wednesday-Sunday from 9am-4pm through August 19th. We hope to see you out at the park!

Rotary Storyland celebrates its 50th anniversary on Saturday, May 19th. When the official 50th anniversary celebration is presented to the community, East Fresno Rotary will be asked to step forward and accept full recognition for helping to preserve a Fresno tradition for many generations to come – King Arthur’s Castle in Storyland. East Fresno Rotary and all its members are a driving force in continuing the tradition of forming permanent family memories for children and their parents throughout central California.

Rotary Storyland & Playland are once again opening for a new season and 2012 holds a very special milestone for one of the two beloved Central California Parks. Rotary Storyland celebrates 50 years of fairytales and fantasy this season while Playland opens for its 57th season respectively. It all begins this Friday with some exciting new improvements in the works as well as a new set of operational hours.

Join us for our new, improved, and family friendly Halloween event, Storyland Spooktacular.
The Storyland Spooktacular is on October 29, 2011 from 4pm-8pm. Children under 3 years of age are free. All other guests are $13.00. Admission to the event includes: trick-or-treat stations, game stations, live bands and performances from local talent, haunted train ride, and free rides on the carousel, roller coaster, and helicopters at Playland. We are teaming with the Pumpkin King of Fresno for a pumpkin patch at Playland and a pumpkin decorating contest and much, much more!

The Easter Bunny paid a visit to Rotary Storyland early this past Saturday and the result was memories for the entire family. Rotary Storyland hosted its annual EGGSTRVAGANZA this past Saturday April 23, 2011 and hundreds filled the park to find eggs and participate in crafts. In addition, children & families alike enjoyed performances of Jack & The Beanstalk being performed by Stage Door Theatre company.

One of Rotary Playland's most popular attractions is set to open this weekend. Splash Junction, the parks 3500 square foot splash area will be opening for public use this weekend now that the weather is getting warmer. Splash Junction consists of splash features that spray from above and from below the ground. Children and families are invited to bring out their swim suits and enjoy the popular attraction. Splash Junction was opened in the summer of 2008 and was funded by two large grants from East Fresno Rotary Club and Fig Garden Rotary Club.
